On-Grid Rooftop Solar System

On-grid solar systems, also known as grid-tied or grid-connected systems, are directly connected to the local utility grid. This connectivity allows for a seamless exchange of electricity between the solar installation and the grid. When the solar panels generate excess electricity, it is fed back into the grid, and when additional power is needed, it can be drawn from the grid.

ON-GRID SOLAR PV SYSTEM

The on-grid (grid-tie) solar PV system works in sync with the grid. Unlike normal inverters, there is no limitation on the usable load in the on–grid solar PV system.

Components required for on-grid solar PV system

  • Solar Panels / Solar PV modules
  • DC – AC grid-tie Inverter
  • Installation kit which includes Mounting structures, ACDB, DCDB, AC & DC wire, Connectors, Lightning arrestor, and earthing cables.

Choosing the right system capacity for you

One of the main steps in selecting a solar PV system is determining the right solar system capacity. The main criterion here is the energy consumption per month from the grid. Since an on–grid solar PV system is installed to save the electricity bill, selecting the right capacity matters.

Key points

  • Generate power for your needs and sell excess electricity to the State Electricity Company.
  • Short payback time after which you enjoy free electricity for a long time.
  • Does not come with battery backup. That means the system won’t work when there is a power failure in the grid.
